The
Mogul Process
1. We
(you and a Mogul partner) review your marketing
plan.
Make us understand your target
market(s).
We may want to refine your definition
a bit, because the more specific, the
better we can focus our efforts where
they will get the best results.
Who is your competition? What is the
media saying about them? What are their
strengths and weaknesses?
How have you / do you want to position / differentiate
your product?
Explain current advertising and public relations efforts. What
seems to work and what does not? Why?
Review existing collateral material. Do you like it? Does it
work? Maybe you need one presentation
for internal use, and another one for
clients.
If it makes sense, we also review current distribution
and merchandising efforts, looking for
opportunities for improving
efficiency.
2. We conduct market research to determine how your target
market likes to buy, and what has been successful for other companies selling to the same market.
3. We draw up a prioritized list of marketing
activities / material that make sense for reaching your target
market and sales goals.
We interview whomever is
appropriate for ideas, information.
4. We block out
what is needed in a design document.
For
a web site, CD or video, this will block out the general
structure / storyboard.
For a press kit, it would describe press
pieces and planned photos and graphics.
If we are assisting with strategy or
for simple outsourced projects, this may not be
needed. We just want to make sure that we are on
the same wavelength as the project progresses.
5. MM
develops the content:
Photographs,
design, copy, photo manipulation, illustration,
whatever is needed.
6. You
review a draft of what we've written,
a comp of a couple different design treatments,
select shots.
We
will do this step a few times, until you
are happy. We may do this in person, or via e-mail
or a web site.
7. Once you approve
a comp, MM will continue to guide the
production process to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
We will work with the printer, the press,
the ISP, the CD duplicator - whatever is
needed - until you have what you want.
Everything we do is aimed
at growing
your business. We make you look good with
great material delivered on schedule with
no budget surprises.
